Regarding the Japanese Standard JIS A5528-2021 for Steel Sheet Piles

Today, we supplied a batch of No. 3 steel sheet piles (specifications: U400×125×13 mm) to a Japanese customer. This product was manufactured by our company in accordance with the Japanese standard JIS A5528-2021.

Production began in July, followed by port consolidation and ocean transport in August, with the shipment finally arriving at the client’s construction site at the end of August.

During the product handover, the client’s quality inspection team examined the product, focusing on external dimensions and thickness. Each sheet pile was 13.5 meters long.

The client measured the thickness to be approximately 12.50–13.00 mm, leading to a discrepancy between the two parties regarding the thickness. The Japanese client believed the thickness deviated significantly from 13 mm, so we provided explanations regarding our production processes and manufacturing standards. We also supplied both the English and Japanese versions of the JIS A 5528-2021 standard, which contain detailed specifications regarding thickness and tolerance requirements.

After inspecting the products, the client gave us a thumbs-up and praised our professionalism. This quality dispute was resolved in less than half an hour, and the products were successfully put into storage!

We wish the client all the best with their construction project and thank our colleagues on-site!
